Shape of Voice is a youth newspaper that brings out the voice of todays youth. We fight for social justice, whether it be discrimination, poverty, or the legal system, you do have a voice!

If you have an interest in learning photography, journalism, social activism, web design, drawing, graphic design or newspaper production come get involved. We also need music reviews, art, comics, and political articles.

Rock-n-Roll, college students in underwear, and the abundance of beer. I’m not talking about Isla Vista, but La Fiesta. Another year romanticizing the Old Spanish Days through decorations, costumes, dances, parades, and most importantly, partying. Although the Old Spanish Days committee calls La Fiesta an event providing, “an education…about the history, customs, and traditions of the American Indian, Spanish, Mexican, and early American settlers…” the reality is that La Fiesta portrays a one-sided view of history ignoring the slavery that native indigenous cultures endured under the Catholic Church and Spanish Army.
